Indonesia has 2 seasons that are dry season and rainy season. These seasons effect much in furniture industry. Dry season helps furniture manufacturers to keep the woods dry after kiln drying process. Some of finishing method also depend on sunlight that is shining well on dry season. Unfortunately, furniture buyers place small orders in this season because of low market on their country. Indonesia is in the opposite of the world . Dry season comes on April until October.

Rainy season comes on October until April when furniture market is in high season due to Christmas. Problems came when there is a low sunlight and hard rain that makes moisture content (MC) of the woods can rise easily even after they are kiln dried. Non-dried well woods effect a lot on furniture manufacturing steps. If you want to buy furniture from Indonesia, make sure that your suppliers have a good quality control on their raw furniture materials.

Some woods can be easily getting wet such as mango wood. Mango wood is good for furniture because of it’s yellow color. Teak wood is different. Even it can be wet, but the raise of MC is much slower. It’s more durable to be used for patio furniture.

So please be understand if your suppliers need more time to deliver your orders in rainy season.
